====== Openfire Upgrade (Ubuntu) ======

  - stop openfire (/usr/local/openfire/bin/openfire stop)
  - Download the **tar.gz** new release from [[http://www.igniterealtime.org/downloads/index.jsp|Ignite]] 
  - Backup **./conf** and **./embedded-db** from the current openfire directory (/usr/local/openfire)
  - move the openfire directory out of the way by either renaming or deleting it.
  - extract the file you downloaded in step #2
  - mv the **./conf** and **./embedded-db** directories from step #3 into the new openfire directory
  - start openfire (/usr/local/openfire/bin/openfire start)
