Shared Use iPads

can log into a device
uses a managed Apple id
can login by passcode
only on newest iPad and needs 32GB or more storage
all data is cached first then transferred to iCloud
MDM must support iPad sharing
requires apple school manager
uses caching server to help with iCloud data transfers
restricted to MDM organization/school
Apps that are not cloudaware will not have it's data replicated
iPAds sharing is done only during enrollment in MDM platform

need device to device wifi
need bluetooth turned on
need a MDM to support classroom
can open apps on student ipads

Apple School Manager

will replace VPP, apple ids, and device enrollment
enters open beta in May 2016
public release by mid summer
enrolling will migrate all data
support is done through Apple Care

Managed Apple IDs

created, managed, and owned, by school district
can not use app and book stores
many icloud services will be disabled
facetime and iMessage can be disabled
planning to work with all SIS vendors
no security questions needed
only 5GB per apple id in iCloud
their might be a way transfer ownership of a apple id to the student
when you print login sheets all selected are reset, should changed before release
